SETX High School Fishing Announces Mandatory Advisor Meeting & Exciting Changes for 2025 Season ![]()
Southeast Texas High School Fishing is thrilled to announce the kickoff of the 2025 season with a mandatory Advisor Meeting to be held at Brookeland High School on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
We apologize for the late notice — our team has been hard at work “cleaning house” and making big improvements behind the scenes. Now, we are excited and ready to share our plans, updates, and game-changing changes for the year ahead!
Please note: while attendance is mandatory for each school, the advisor themself does not have to attend as long as the school is represented.
Topics to be covered include:
• Brand-new software upgrade (first time in 12 years!)
• A smoother, easier registration process
• Restructuring of our organization
• Introduction of new board members & their roles
• Streamlined communication process
• The long-awaited elimination of boat cards (YES!!!)
• Lowered required fees
• A new transparency plan
• Short presentation from the B.A.S.S. State Director
• Launch of our new Team of the Year program
• Updates to rules
• An all-new updated website
• Changes to social media platforms
• Transparency in checks and balances
• …and much more!
We sincerely thank everyone for their patience as we worked to put this season together. Our goal at SETX High School Fishing remains the same: to make every event fun, educational, and family-oriented, while creating lasting memories for anglers, captains, family, and friends alike.
For those unable to attend in person, a full recap and summary of the meeting will be emailed and posted on our new website and Facebook page.
With a renewed focus on being an angler-facing organization, we are more excited than ever to make 2025 our best season yet!
We can’t wait to see you at Brookeland on September 14th and out on the water this season!
